Energy Uganda Foundation Ltd (EUF) is a company engaged in the production and dissemination of various kinds of biomass technologies which include improve energy saving household stoves, institutional energy saving stoves (both fixed and portable), baking ovens, incinerators, fire-less box cookers and water heating systems.

More than 84% of East African households and institutions rely on 

traditional biomass cooking methods, typically charcoal in urban areas and firewood in rural households.

The situation in Uganda mirrors what is taking place in East Africa. 

Traditional fuel (firewood and charcoal) is the predominant source of energy contributing over 88% of the total energy consumed for 

cooking in Uganda as per the 2005/06 National Household Survey (98% in rural households and 79% in urban households).
